The Royal Two Bedroom Over Water Villa at the St. Regis Bora Bora looks a bit rustic, like most over-the-water bungalows in Bora Bora, but what sets it apart is its luxurious interior. Complete with artwork, a 42-inch television, with surround sound and free Wi-Fi, guests who want to vacation, but do not want to disconnect from technology will love these bungalows.

The Le Meridien Bora Bora’s overwater bungalows are equipped with generous glass panels, so travelers can actually see what is happening under the water. The premium bungalows have the most privacy and the best views. These bungalows also have bigger decks than the other lagoon bungalows. Remember, though, unlike the beach lagoons, over-the-water bungalows usually do not have direct beach access. They are over-the water-not on the beach, so you probably will have to walk a little to get to the beach.

The Four Seasons Bora Bora has several different over water villas, but the most luxurious are the deluxe and superior  bungalows. The superior bungalows have a view of the beach and have either one queen or two king beds and a full-sized bathroom.  Some of the deluxe bungalows have a view of the lagoon. The superior bungalows have both wired and wireless internet connections and plasma TVs, so you won’t feel cut off from the rest of the world if you don’t want to be.

All of the superior bungalows at the Four Seasons Bora Bora have a living and the bungalows are sized at about l,000 square feet. The deluxe bungalows are slightly larger, and they come with the glass panels that look down into the lagoon. The superior bungalows are priced at about $1,377 per night (price on a weekend in June 2014). The deluxe is priced at about $1.607 per night (with king-sized beds). The Four Seasons Bora Bora has more luxurious single over-the-water bungalows ($2,869 per night)  and connecting overwater bungalows  with plunge pools too ($4,131).

At about 1,450 square feet large, the bungalows have ladders that lead into the Indian Ocean, so you can swim in those crystal clear waters when you are not swinging over the water in your hammock. The over-the-water bungalows in Constance Halvaeli Maldives are actually called water villas. They each have a plunge pool and floorplans that include a combined living room/bedroom area. These cute bungalows are about 1,076 square feet big. The overwater villas start at about $1,150 per night.

The Residence Maldives is about 240 miles away from the airport of Mahe in the Maldives. The Residence offers guests air conditioned overwater villas with 40-inch TVs and free wi-fi. The two-bedroom pool villas are suitable for couples who want a more spacious living area than the one bedroom suite provides. They are about 1,1550 square feet large and cost about $1,840 per night.

The two-bedroom overwater villa with the private jetty (and a private area)  is one of the most luxurious suites at the Laucala Island Resort in Fiji. The villa features a huge infinity pool.  The published rates at the Laucala start at $4,200 per night.

You might recognize the Moorea Pearl from an episode of the  reality TV show Basketball Wives.  Remember the episode when the ladies took a trip to Tahiti?
