Amtrak is looking for writers who are interesting in taking a trip on Amtrak trains and experience cross country travel, according to a release. Writers who are interested in the program should provide writing samples and answer two questions. Amtrak will select up to 24 writers to participate in the program. This is the second year that Amtrak has chosen writers for the Amtrak Residency program. Last year, participants traveled on different Amtrak lines including the Coast Starlight, the California Zephyr, the Sunset Limited, and the Empire Builder. All of the routes are in America. The program gives writers the opportunity to form a connection with the various landscapes in America and to spark creativity and inspiration. Learn more about the Amtrak Residency program on the Amtrak blog. The deadline to apply is January 11.
