The Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz just might be the place for you if you are looking for a mountain resort getaway in Upstate New York. In an episode of Love and Hip Hop New York, Tahiry and Joe Budden went away on a romantic trip to the Mohonk Mountain House in New York. In the episode, Joe and Tahiry were seen driving from the city to a less populous area. The mountain resort is actually within driving distance from New York City. It’s about 90 miles away.

The mountain house features rooms with lake and mountain views. The rooms include meals. Tea and cookies are served in the afternoons. Some of the resort’s activities are also included in the room fee. Guests can choose from among: Classic rooms, Country Rooms, Victorian Rooms, Tower Rooms, Junior Suites, Lake View Suites, and Mountain View Suites.

For small groups or extra privacy, the Mohonk Mountain House has a number of cottages which can house from four to six people. These Hudson Valley cottages, however, are only available during specific seasons. The smaller Holly Cottage, suited for two guests, is available year-round. Cottage guests may participate the Kids Club, boating, swimming, and tennis. The have access to the fitness center and the heated swimming pool.

Gardens at the Mohonk Mountain House

The resort is known for its colorful award-winning formal gardens, where some couples opt to get married, and many others simply appreciate the flowers. Guests often see flowers from the Mohonk florists gracing some of the areas inside the lodge. Hotel guests can request bouquets for their rooms or for special events.

Mohonk Mountain House has a dining facility, the West Dining Room for special events. The West Dining Room seats up to 175 people. Guests can choose from formal and casual dining options at the resorts’ three dining rooms.

The mountain resort earned the Conde Nast 2013 Gold List Award.
