The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, just north of Jacksonville in Florida, will host the Fish to Fork weekend. The weekend includes a cooking competition on May 7, 2016 to benefit the James Beard Foundation, a non-profit culinary arts organization. Six chefs: Kathleen Blake, Joey Ward, Craig Deihl, Cesar Zapata, Jeremy Sewall and Kenny Gilbert, will compete in the event.

Guests are invited to experience a weekend full of activities that revolve around food. Taste tests, seafood meals, great wine, a fishing expedition, and live music and entertainment are planned for Fish to Fork.

The competing chefs will participate in two challenges. First, they’ll have to catch their fish during a chartered fishing trip. Then, they’ll have to prepare signature dishes with the fish they caught. Next, the chefs will participate in a timed team challenge to create entrees. Fish to Fork guests will choose the winner through a vote, after tasting the entrees.

The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is a 404-room/suite property set on 1,350 acres. There are over 300 one and two-bedroom villas in the resort. Guests have access to 10 on-site restaurants, three pools, a fitness center, and a golf course.
