Carnival Corporation & PLC has signed a memo agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri S.p.A to build four ships: two for Costa Asia to be used in China, and one ship for P&O Cruises Australia and a ship for Princess Cruises. In total, Carnival Crises has 17 ships that will built to begin service between 2016 and 2020.

The Princess Cruises ship will hold 3,560 passengers and will be branded as a Royal Princess ship. The Costa Asia ships and P&O Cruises Australia ship will carry 4,200 passengers. Fincantieri will build the ships one by one in Italy. The P&O Australia ship will be the largest ship in the P&O line.
The Princess ship will feature balconies for 80% of all staterooms, movies under the stars, dining, entertainment, and shopping venues.
Carnival Corporation & PLC has 10 cruise brands, including Fathom, Holland America, Seabourn, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises Australia, P&O Cruises UK, Costa Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard, and Carnival Cruises.
