Carrie Underwood in collaboration with Carnival Cruises will give a free concert for military families. The concert will take place at the Port of New York on the Carnival Vista, Carnival’s newest family-friendly ship. Underwood is a representative for Operation Homefront, the national nonprofit organization that seeks to aid military families. A year-long fundraising program with proceeds going to Operation Homefront, will conclude with the Carrie Underwood concert in honor of the military families.

Donations for Operation Homefront are being accepted on the Carnival Cruise Honor Family Fun page. During Underwood’s Storyteller Tour, she’ll meet selected military families in ten cities. The military families have been chosen to participate in meet and greet sessions which will take place before Underwood’s concerts. Her tour starts on January 30th.

The Carnival Vista is planned to sail to Europe in May 2016 and return to the states where it will be docked in November for the concert. The Carnival Vista features an IMAX theater, the first IMAX on a ship. Guests can also look forward a micro-brewery, the first on a United States based ship. A water attraction with a raft tube slide ride, a wide selection of eateries and other entertainment options are on the Carnival Vista.
