IHG signed an agreement with Kebsup Group Company Limited to open a Hotel Indigo in Phuket, according to IHG. The 180-room hotel is scheduled to open in 2018. The new Hotel Indigo will be located close to the beach in Patong, which is a resort town in the western part of Phuket. Patong has a thriving nightlife with dozens of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. The new Hotel Indigo will reflect the Thai culture. Hotel Indigo is a boutique hotel, and each hotel  has slightly different decor.

There is an existing Hotel Indigo in Bangkok. IHG has 18 hotels in Thailand, according to IHG. In addition to the Hotel Indigo brand, these hotels are under the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express brands.
