Renaissance Hotels announced the opening for a flagship hotel in the spring of 2016. The Renaissance brand, targeted to modern business travelers is focusing on tech savvy travelers for the hotel 348-room Renaissance New York Midtown that will be located in the garment district.

The Renaissance New York Midtown hotel will have the first digital experience of its kind in New York. First, visitors will walk through a motion-sensitive passageway that will surround them with artistically digital images. Visitors and guests can access the hotel either from 34th Street or 35th Street. From the 34th Street entrance, there is an alcove with a digital concierge, operated by pointing at the screen or tapping with the foot, that will provide users with information on where to go and what to do the neighborhood.

In the hotel’s lobby is the Renaissance navigator table, with expert information on local must-sees and must-tries.

Once the hotel is completed, it will stand out in the New York skyline. It will have a large four-story LED clock on the top of the building that will change its digital design every hour.

Included in the 348 rooms at the Renaissance is a celebrity suite and seven executive suites. The new Renaissance hotel will be located on 35th Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.
