The Wind Creek Montgomery Gaming facility in Alabama is opening on December 1, 2015 with BB King Blues Club and an expanded gaming floor. The facilities are part of a $65 million expansion, which is scheduled to be completed at the end of December 2015. The construction includes a hotel, salon, swimming pool, and event center. The BB King Blues Club and the expanded gaming room are set to open on December 1st at 10 a.m.
The new gaming room will have 2,200 machines and a separate room where smoking is not allowed. The property will now be known as Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery, instead of its previous name of Creek Casino Montgomery.
BB King Blues Club is a speakeasy club that will offer patrons nightly live entertainment and Southern cuisine.
BB King Blues Club is named after the legendary blues performer and composer Riley B. King, who died on May 14 2015. Lovingly called the King of the Blues, BB King is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His name will live on through is music and through the clubs that will continue to carry on his legacy. There are other BB King Blues Club locations in Memphis, Nashville, Orlando, and the club is coming soon to New Orleans. Typical food in other BB King Blues Club establishments include barbecue ribs, fish, and chicken, Southern style.
Opening later this December is Itta Bena, an upscale restaurant with various wine choices. Itta Bena is actually named after the birthplace of BB King. There is currently an Itta Bena location in Memphis, Tennessee. At the Memphis location, ribeyes, fish filet paired with lobster, filet mignon, jambalaya pasta are on the menu.
In addition to Itta Bena, a 123-room, 5-story hotel is one of the anticipated openings for late 2015. The hotel will house a salon and an events center. Already open at the location, is Lucille’s, named after BB King’s famous guitar. The casual eatery serves finger foods, like nachos, burgers, fried chicken tenders, and barbecue sandwiches. Lucille’s has been completed and open since January 2015 at the Wind Creek Location.
